ANT EXTERMINATION

Ants forage for food in warmer weather. As the temperatures increase, ants will venture farther and farther from their colonies in search of food. It is during the summer months that ant nests grow larger. This will eventually drive them into our homes. Heavy rains during the spring season also drive ants out of their colonies in search of higher ground. The most common ants that people deal with are the odorous house ant, also referred to as the sugar ant, and the carpenter ant. The odorous house ant can easily invade your home and become quite the nuisance. Where as the carpenter ant can also invade your home and not only be a nuisance but pose a serious threat to the structural integrity of your home if not properly dealt with.

SPIDER EXTERMINATION

garden spider

Spiders start to become active during the spring as the temperatures warm and they start searching for food. During the summer months the brown recluse in particular start making more of their presence known. With the heat of summer pounding down on your roof and exterior walls, this in turn drives them from those areas they like to hide, such as attic spaces and wall voids. A lot of the time people will find these guys trapped in a sink, bathtub, or quickly scurrying across the floor. Although the brown recluse is not an aggressive spider, its bite can potentially become potentially serious. The number two places people get bit are either while getting dressed or in bed. Be sure to shake out clothing that has not been worn recently and keep your bed skirting and blankets from hanging on the floor. Spider activity in general increases into the fall, as this is when spiders mate. Fall is usually when you will notice those enormous intricate webs hanging outside around your house.

COCKROACH EXTERMINATION

TN/KY has several different species of cockroaches. From those that are considered peridomestic, meaning they live both indoors and outdoors, such as the American and Oriental cockroach; to those that are considered domestic, which means they are mainly found indoors, such as the German and Brownbanded cockroach. As well as the wood roach that is an outdoor species that finds its way indoors as an incidental invader, but will not establish indoor populations. Cockroaches are known to hide near pipes and drains. The German cockroach in particular prefer their tops and bottoms touching as well as heat sources, so they will take up residency in any crack and crevice or commonly in the motors of appliances such as your fridge, stove etc., and are typically first noticed in your kitchen or bath areas. They can spread 7 different deadly diseases and exacerbate asthma.

FLEA AND TICKS EXTERMINATION

Fleas can become quite the problem not only in your yard, but in your home as well. Adult fleas are approximately 1/8- inch long, dark reddish-brown, wingless, hard-bodied insects, with enlarged hind legs, and are flattened laterally allowing for easy movement between fur, hair or the feathers on the host. Fleas can leap vertically up to seven inches and horizontally thirteen inches. Fleas flourish in warmer weather, so as the weather cools, their population indoors thrive. They will hitchhike into your home on both you and your pets and any wildlife that may come into your home in the fall. Fleas have piercing-sucking mouth parts at which they use to feed. Maintaining your pets with a monthly flea preventative will help to protect your home from these nasty invaders. If they do make their way into your home we can treat your home and yard to help get your issue under control.

Ticks are found in wooded, brushy areas as well as fields and in your backyard. There are several types of ticks but the most common type are blacklegged tick, Lone Star tick, brown dog tick and American dog tick. Ticks carry disease, so it’s a good idea to take precautions outdoors.

MICE CONTROL

Mice are a common fall pest. Mice will migrate indoors as the weather cools in search of warmth, shelter, food and water. Mice not only spread disease but will also chew through wood supports and other materials. They are known to chew through electrical wires, which can at times result in house fires. Sealing up entry points to your home, such as areas where pipes and wires are coming in, as well replacing worn our or damaged weather stripping, will help to prevent them from gaining access into your home.

HORNET, WASP, YELLOW JACKET EXTERMINATION

These insects wake up from their dormant stage in the spring and become more active throughout the summer. Spring is the start of their mating season, as they seek to establish their nests and breed.

They reach their highest populations in the summer. They often build their nests in any openings in your house, under overhangs, behind gutters or in the ground, which is particularly common for yellow jackets.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Often Do You Recommend Pest Control Services?

We recommend, at a minimum, biannually, during the spring as well as the fall seasons. We offer quarterly services for those who would prefer that frequency of service. If you are a commercial establishment, we also provide a monthly service to fit your needs.

What Do We Need to Do to Prepare?

It would be great if you could take the time to clean out under your kitchen and bathroom vanities, where the water pipes are located, as well as the bottom floors of your closets. These are places where spiders like to hide. We also recommend picking up any clothing or toys lying on the floor prior to your appointment.

Do You Guarantee Your Work?

Your satisfaction is very important to us. We ask people to give it four weeks typically and, if they are still having a problem, to call us back. We will come back and retreat at no charge on most occasions. Ask for further details.
